October 26 through November 3, 2019:
Early Voting in NY State

  • Early Voting will be available for the first time at the Southold Town Senior Services Center, 750 Pacific Street, Mattituck, NY 11952.
  • Early voting will be available during the following dates and times:
    • Saturday October 26: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
    • Sunday October 27: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
    • Monday October 28: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
    • Tuesday October 29: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
    • Wednesday October 30: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
    • Thursday October 31: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
    • Friday November 1: Noon – 8 p.m.
    • Saturday November 2: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
    • Sunday November 3: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

October 29, 2019:
Absentee voting deadlines

  • Absentee ballots via mail must be postmarked no later than October 29, 2019 or in-person, no later than November 4. Click here for an Absentee Ballot request Form.
    • Deliver Absentee Ballots via mail, postmarked by October 29, 2019, to: Suffolk County Board of Elections, P.O. Box 700, Yaphank, NY 11980
    • Deliver Absentee Ballots in person by November 4, 2019, to: Suffolk County Board of Elections, 700 Yaphank Ave, Yaphank, NY 11980
  • Qualifications to vote by Absentee Ballot
    • Absent from your county or, if a resident of New York City absent from said city, on Election Day.
    • Unable to appear at the polls due to temporary or permanent illness or disability; or because you are the primary care giver of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled.
    • A resident or patient of a Veterans Health Administration Hospital.
    • Detained in jail awaiting Grand Jury action or confined in prison after conviction for an offense other than a felony.

October 16, 2019:
Change of name or address deadline

  • Notices of change of address must be received at the Board of Elections by October 16, 2019. Fill out a voter registration form. It has a section on the form that responds to a change of name or address.

October 11, 2019:
Postmark deadline for registration applications

  • Voter registration applications must be postmarked no later than October 11, 2019 and received by the Board of Elections no later than October 16, 2019. Mail it to: Suffolk County Board of Elections, P.O. Box 700, Yaphank, NY 11980

In-person registration deadline

  • Voter registration applications must be received in-person at the Board of Elections no later than October 11, 2019. If honorably discharged from the US Military or have become a naturalized US Citizen after October 12, 2019, you may register in person at the Board of Elections up until October 26, 2019. Make Your Voice Heard – Vote in Southold!

If you have a home in Southold, you can vote here, even if you also have a primary residence elsewhere.

In many areas, your vote is not very likely to sway an election. In Southold, elections are sometimes determined by just a few votes. Make your vote count. Change your voting place to Southold Town and make a difference. (But remember, you can only vote once.)

The voter registration form is used to change your place of voting. The form must be received by the Board of Elections by October 16, 2019 in order to vote in the November 5, 2019 election.

Even if you can’t be in Southold on election day, if you are registered here, you can vote by absentee ballot.
